about

In considering the inspiration behind this work, I read much of The Bhagavad Gita as Dr. Robert Oppenheimer quoted it multiple times when referring to his work on the Trinity nuclear test. It is hard not to imagine that we are on some sort of alternate timeline considering the events of the last few years and the new threats of war and global destruction. XI, 12 is a dark jazz work named after the the chapter and verse of the Bhagavad Gita that Dr. Oppenheimer was said to have been reminded of when watching the world’s first nuclear test just prior to dawn in the New Mexico desert on July 16th, 1945. 05:29:45 is the exact time that our world changed forever and marked our diversion into the technologically-accelerated decline of our environment and our humanity.
